ARADS and ASTRA unite sport and culture in a strategic partnership for Romanian youth in the country and the Diaspora.
The Romanian Association for the Defense of Athletes’ Rights “United Europe” (ARADS) and the ASTRA Association (Transylvanian Association for Romanian Literature and the Culture of the Romanian People) have signed an open-ended Cooperation Protocol aimed at creating a lasting impact in the fields of education, sports, and identity among young Romanians both in Romania and abroad.
This partnership honors the past, acts in the present, and looks confidently toward the future. ASTRA – with over 160 years of tradition in promoting Romanian culture and national identity – joins forces with ARADS – a modern organization dedicated to defending athletes’ rights – to build a platform of collaboration between sport and culture, between generations and communities.
Key objectives of the partnership include:
- Promoting education through sport and culture among youth in Romania and the Diaspora;
- Training young cultural and sports ambassadors of Romania, in the spirit of sports diplomacy and respect for national identity;
- Organizing events, camps, competitions, and workshops under the banner of “Sport & Dignity”, as vibrant spaces for dialogue and inclusion;
- Supporting athletic performance and dignity as models of civic conduct and excellence for new generations.
Through this protocol, ARADS reaffirms its commitment to ambitious projects that combine sport, education, and civic activism in service of Romanian athletes—both in the country and abroad. ASTRA contributes with its extensive network of cultural centers, academic expertise, and a heritage of values that strengthen this endeavor.
