The First Major Decisions in the "Abuse in Gymnastics" Case: A Better Future for Rhythmic Gymnastics

Bucharest, February 28, 2025 – Six months ago, we launched an ambitious initiative alongside a small but dedicated team, aimed at improving the quality of life for athletes in Romania. Today, after months of sustained efforts, we can announce that the first major decisions regarding the reported cases have been issued, confirming the validity of the allegations.

The positive response from the Ethics Commission of the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee (COSR) marks a significant milestone in this endeavor. We thank them for their openness to dialogue and for their support in conducting an ethical and objective analysis of the allegations.

Crucial Decisions for FRGR – An Urgent Necessity

One of the most important measures targets the Romanian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics (FRGR), which is now required to implement essential reforms within 45 days. Failure to comply with these regulations will result in its suspension from COSR. Among the imposed measures are:

Clear separation of responsibilities between coordination and decision-making, both on the sports and administrative sides;
Establishment of transparent technical criteria for selecting athletes for high-performance programs;
Adoption of strict policies regarding athlete relations, focused on the protection of minors;
Creation of essential procedures, including in the areas of competitions, medical assistance, anti-doping, and athlete protection;
Organization of informational sessions for federations, athletes, and coaches;
Implementation of an ethical communication policy in the public space;
Publication of the adopted measures on FRGR's official channels.

A Message for the Rhythmic Gymnastics Community

The actions of ARADS/Atelierul de Soluții are not about scandals or revenge, but about bringing about a real and necessary change. Our vision is based on fundamental values: ethics, respect for athletes and coaches, transparency, and professionalism.
